Rose City Animation Showcase was founded in 2009 to give aspiring artists, animators, and filmmakers a chance to have their work shown on the big screen to their friends, families, and strangers alike.
Last year's showcase was a great success! The house was packed with all sorts of people from animation and film professionals, students, and random folk off the streets. Dozens of films were submitted and shown to a full theatre house of the young at heart. This year we intend to do the same!
Sponsors like the Art Institute of Portland, Paintchip Studios, Paper Ray Gun, STAC, ASIFA Portland, and the Animation Guild all help to make it happen. RCAS is run by volunteers and runs as a non-profit organization. We are powered and supported by people who love animation and who want to see the community grow in Portland.
RCAS encourages everyone to participate despite skill level, whether it be creating short films, volunteering, or passing the word to your friends! We want anyone out there with a dream and a vision to submit. RCAS exists to show films of all kinds on the big screen to people excited for film and animation.
